Katie Boggs serves as the Secretary of the American Natural Bodybuilding Federation (ANBF). She previously served as the Bikini Division representative on the ANBF board before assuming her current role in 2015.
The daughter of professional cyclist, Katie has always been an avid athlete, participating in sailing, soccer, cross-country, track, hockey, and water polo during high school and college. Katie began lifting weights seriously in 2000 and earned an NSCA-CPT personal training certification in 2004.
Katie made her figure debut at the OCB Pride of the Atlantic in 2008, winning Figure Novice Tall. Following this impressive start, Katie placed in the top three of every competition she entered in her first year. Her inaugural season concluded with Katie taking first place in her class at the OCB Yorton Cup Nationals and winning her IFPA pro card. She became an OCB judge in 2010, and has served as a judge for the OCB, IFPA, ANBF, and NGA since then.
Katie has placed in the top five in every professional competition that she has entered since 2010. She is a member of Team Norton, and enjoys a flexible dieting approach. In addition to lifting, Katie practices yoga and enjoys Russian Kettlebell workouts.
Dr. Boggs holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon and a Doctorate in Physics from Trinity College, Dublin, where her work focused on development of ferromagnetic nanomaterials. She currently works at NASA Headquarters, where she leads technology strategy development for the International Space Station (ISS).
